The best and worst diets of 2017

The best diet of 2017 was the DASH diet. This is the seventh time that this nutrition medication has been at the head of the annual ranking published by the US title „US News & World Report”. Which diet is in the last place and is therefore the worst?

This year’s ranking includes 38 diets that have been selected by, among others, dietary consultants, doctors specializing in the treatment of diabetes and heart disease, experts on weight loss. In order for the diet to be included in this statement, it had to meet the following criteria: be safe, fairly simple when it comes to realizing its assumptions, and effectively reduce the condition of the weight.

Next to the DASH diet, the following were on the podium: on the second place, the Mediterranean diet (last year it was placed in 4th place, so it was promoted) and on the third – MIND diet (down from 2, which was 12 months ago)

According to David Katz, one of the panelists assessing the diet and the director of the Center for Research and Prevention at Yale University, a great surprise is the lack of surprises (changes) in this year’s three best diets. It turns out that the way to stay healthy and reduce (or maintain) your weight is still the same. He adds that the best diet is actually the one we can implement and practice for a long time.
